Narcs Casas and Josep Pibernat founded Gas Gas in Salt, Girona, Spain, in 1985 as a motorcycle manufacturer. Off-road motorcycles for trials and enduro competitions are the company’s specialty. KTM motorcycles bought Gas Gas in 2019. Due to the sale to KTM, Rieju, the Spanish motorcycle manufacturer, acquired all of Gas Gas’s off-road models.

Whether or not GasGas is the same as KTM is an open question.
The KTM and GasGas have distinct exhaust systems. The muffler on the GasGas is a little quieter than on the KTM because there is no chamber in the head pipe. GasGas has linkage suspension, which is in direct opposition to the KTM PDS suspension design.
Is the GasGas dirtbike a good choice?
Just a few spark plugs get fouled up by it. The first time I bought it, I feared it wouldn’t measure up to more well-known brands like Honda, but it does. For the price, you can’t get nearly as many high-performance parts. This bike is on par with any other that I’ve tried out on the track.

Trials bikes made by GasGas are well-balanced, but the front end is a little raked out. Due to the front-end geometry, GasGas also appears to be easier to balance. Despite this, it has one of the largest turning radiuses of any vehicle manufacturer in the industry.
