An in-depth look at the Trek FX 3 as the finest 2022 hybrid bike is provided in this report. A 1X gearing, disc brakes, and tubeless-ready wheels are all included in the Trek FX 3 for 2022! To utilise it for commuting or for a leisurely ride around town, you’ll need a flat bar road bike.
FX 3 is the best value on the market. With a steel fork on board, the FX 1 is a heavyweight. Some examples of the FX 1 still come equipped with rim brakes, which are a rare find these days. There is a slight difference in pricing between the Trek FX 2 and FX 3, however the FX 3 has more functionality. Learn more about these new features by visiting this page. They’re aluminium forks on the FX 2 and carbon forks on FX 3. The 2022 FX 3’s reduced vibrations are a result of the use of carbon fibre in the chassis.
Trek FX overview
A “fitness bike” or “hybrid bike” is a bike that can be used for a variety of purposes. Among these bikes, the Trek FX is my personal favourite.
If you can imagine a spectrum of hybrid bikes, starting with road bikes and progressing through mountain and downhill cycles, it would be helpful. It is the narrow tyres that separate road bikes from other types of bikes. Most of the time, their riders will be hunched over the handlebars, hurtling down the road in tight spandex clothing. There is a lot more wear and tear on mountain bikes than there is on road bicycles. Their motorcycles will be equipped with massive, dangerous tyres, as well as suspension on the front and back wheels, and the riders will be dressed in baggy riding suits and full-face helmets. Backcountry paths with steep ascents and descents will take them through rocky and rooty terrain.
There’s plenty of room for hybrid bikes between the two of them. This type of bike can be used for a wide variety of pursuits. Activities such as grocery shopping, beach vacations and working are all normal in our lives. They’re flexible. It is possible to ride a hybrid bike in a button-down shirt, jeans, and a T-shirt, or a bathing suit and flip-flops. No matter the event, you can ride one in your pyjamas.
This isn’t to say that mountain bikes aren’t faster, but they are more comfortable and don’t require you to wear spandex. You may not be able to ride single-track, near-vertical mountain bike trails. Even if you’re not a death-wisher, it’s possible.
According to my assessment, there are many advantages to owning a hybrid motorcycle and virtually no disadvantages.
A total of 14 different models are available in the FX series, each with their unique set of features and frame designs, such as unisex/male, low-step, and women’s styles. The FX Sport 6 (very responsive, light on its feet, and exceptionally fast – but not cheap) and the FX1 (the most basic type) are the first models you’ll find (which punches above its weight for the component list vs the price). Try out the FX3 Disc and see if it’s the ideal bike for you.

Trek Fx vs Trek Dual Sport vs Trek Verve
Trek’s three most popular hybrid bikes are the FX, Dual Sport, and Verve. A wide range of options are available based on your riding style and location. The Trek FX is a five-star general for a variety of reasons.
There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to this bike. The front fork suspension contributes to the Dual Sport’s weight. Dual Sport does not qualify as a mountain bike because the front fork does not have adequate travel. The Dual Sport can accommodate 2.6-inch Maxxis DHF or DHR tyres, however it cannot be used to build a mountain bike. The Dual Sport is best thought of as an overly equipped gravel bike.
The Verve does not have suspension, and it is heavier than the FX model. It weighs around the same as the Dual Sport. With the right frame size, your Dual Sport or Verve should weigh in at between 31 and 33 pounds. Compared to the FX 2, the FX 3 is more easier to climb hills and travel at high speeds.
Trek FX 3 Maximum Tire Clearance
Trek claims that the Trek FX 3’s maximum tyre size is 38mm. Trek recommends a tyre-to-rim clearance of at least 6 millimetres on both sides. In the winter and when I know I’ll be riding a lot of dirt roads and trails, I put 40mm gravel tyres on my FX 3. In order to keep the weight down, these tyres would be better than an even wider tyre.
A fender mount is included on all three models. Only the Trek Verve comes close in terms of adaptability. In order to maintain an upright position when riding hard, the stem can be lowered. To make the necessary adjustments, an Allen wrench is required. On the Dual Sport and FX, the stem may be flipped for further tuning. It doesn’t matter if you have the Verve’s adjustability range; you’ll still be short.
Conclusion
The FX3 Disc is my favourite Trek FX model. You’ll get a lot of product for your money, as you can see from the list of features. Aluminum. Carbon. It’s Shimano all over. Compared to the next-highest FX4 model, this package saves you roughly $150.
One of my all-time favourite cameras is the FX3. It’s amazing, in my opinion. In my opinion, you’ll do the same.
